Why visit Mallorca over the holidays

In winter the villages of the north are quiet and the summer crowds are gone. The weather is usually mild, with daytime temperatures that often sit around 14–20 °C, although there are also cool, windy or rainy days. It suits walks and eating out, but do not count on swimming.

A private villa also lets you hold Christmas lunch or New Year Eve dinner with the whole family, without booking a table or sticking to a restaurant timetable.

What to do at Christmas in Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia

• In previous years Pollensa and Alcudia have held Christmas markets in the weeks before Christmas, and the Palma market, with its lights, runs until early January. Programmes are published shortly before, so check the dates when you plan. You will find more in our guide to Christmas markets in Mallorca.
• On 5 and 6 January many towns hold Three Kings parades. Ask us which ones are closest to your villa.
• On New Year Eve the tradition is to eat twelve grapes at midnight, at home or in a restaurant.
• For walks, try the Calvari steps in Pollensa, the seafront promenade in Puerto Pollensa or Cap de Formentor.

What to consider when booking a villa in winter

• Heating and fireplace: check what each villa has.
• Heated pool: usually on request and for an extra charge, and the amount depends on the villa. We confirm it for your dates.
• Minimum stay and changeover days: we confirm them when we receive your enquiry, because over these dates they can differ from the rest of the year.
• Taxi or private chef: arranged on request. See our services and tell us which days you need them.

How to book

Each villa has its own availability calendar and enquiry form. Choose one or two options, tell us your dates and the number of guests, and we will reply with the rate and availability. Once Villas de Pollença confirms the booking, you pay a 30 % deposit; the balance is due on the day of arrival at the latest. The details are in the booking conditions.
